Clearwater Brewery - Real Smiler 3.7%

Taste: Wow! That's light it has a subtle hoppy taste which leads to a really jammy aftertaste (robinson's blackcurrent?). It's tasty and I'm not a fan of jam. Something you could drink when you get out of bed.

Appearance: reddy brown

Would you buy 2? I think I could.

Would you buy 4? It's possible. Could get a bit dull.

Rating (out of 7): 4**** a nice gulp

Rating (out of 7): 5***** a lovely bitter.

Stroud Brewery - Woolsack 5%

Taste: Rain Water disinterest. Why can't people just sod off?! ( referring to the official cheese rolling festival being cancelled ) smokey apathy. Tim's favourite turn off on the M4 has suddenly taken a turn for the worst. South... Like the direction in which Tim travels.

Appearance: Tired

Would you buy 2? No

Would you buy 4? No

Rating (out of 7): 3***

Otley Brewing Co. - Mötley Brew 7.5%

Taste: Tastes like loose change. We're embittered about Otley after tasting their 06 Porter just now (rated 6 stars by a fired reporter) and it was foul!!! Horrid!
Jam pot with loose change. Some rum got spilt in.

Would you buy 2? No. I'm disappointed. We thought we could trust Otley.

Would you buy 4? How wrong we were.

Baird Beer - Suruga Bay Imperial IPA 7.4%

Taste: At £10 a pint, it's a treat. But it might not be quite worth that (definitely not, no beer is). It's hoppy, a little creamy. Some chocolate orange. A lot less identifiable than other beers of this ilk. It's muddy. But still great. I think i'm bitter about the cost.

Appearance: Cloudy copper.

Would you buy 2? I'd drink two.

Would you buy 4? No thanks.

Rating (out of 7): 5*****

Rooster's - Last Stand 4.3%

Rating (out of 7): 5***** perfect for a summer's eve.

Oakham Ales - Scarlet Macaw 4.8%

Taste: It boasts three types of USA hops. There's no escaping that! Why would you want to? It's one for the people on a slippery slope of a hop adventure; you just keep wanting more.

Appearance: My baby daughter gave the parrot on the label a kiss in the supermarket, they must be targeting a younger audience.

Would you buy 2? I would! It's lovely. Oakham have this style nailed.

Would you buy 4? Yes please!

Rating (out of 7): 6******

Palmers - 200 Premium Ale 5%

Taste: A nice ale. It has a coppery taste, which makes me feel better about my homebrew attempts. There's a maltyness and a citrus finish. It's all very obvious, but in a comfortable way.

Appearance: Goldfish and copper.

Would you buy 2? I would.

Would you buy 4? It could happen, over time.

Rating (out of 7): 5***** too delicious to be a 4 yet not interesting enough to be a 6.

Rating (out of 7): 5***** a bold move
